over 100,000. Located 37 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 88 miles north of San Diego, Costa Mesa encompasses a total of 16 square miles with its southern border only 1 mile from the Pacific Ocean. The City, which formally adopted the slogan "The City of the Arts in late 1984, is home to a regional symphony orchestra and the South Coast Repertory Theater. The South Coast Plaza shopping center is the single largest
shopping mall and commercial activity center in Costa Mesa.
Costa Mesa is close to good schools, fine restaurants and regional shopping
centers and malls.
